St. Anton ski resort

The slopes and lifts on the Arlberg

The ski resort
The skiing paradise

The Arlberg is and remains legendary. The cradle of alpine skiing is aware of its pioneering role today and scores as one of the most state-of-the-art, best ski resorts in the Alps with a huge selection of slopes, powder snow runs and quite a bit more.

Arlberg skiing paradise

350 kilometres of slopes, almost 100 cable cars and lifts and more than 200 km of powder snow runs. The Arlberg is just one huge skiing paradise that grows a bit closer together year after year. Although not all the resorts are connected to each other at the moment you can reach the other resorts in the winter using the free ski bus.

Look forward to:

  • 145 km of easy slopes
  • 150 km of moderate slopes
  • 55 km of difficult slopes
  • Many of these are competition runs
  • More than 60% of them have snow cannons
  • Skiing fun from the beginning of December to the end of April.

Freeriding on more than 200 km of powder snow runs

One particular highlight of the Arlberg are the many runs in backcountry. You'd have to look for a long time to find ski tours and powder snow runs to this extent in any other place. Many of them can be reached by lifts, some of them you have to work to get to yourself. Highly recommended: the Arlberg is the only ski resort in Austria where heli-skiing is possible. The ski and mountain guides are your point of contact for this.

Learning to ski on the Arlberg

With more than 1,000 qualified and professional ski instructors, the Arlberg is also just the right region for beginners. Even some of the training academies for instructors are here. However, the Skischule Arlberg also provides courses for experienced skiers too. Be it for powder snow skiing or ski tours, heli-skiing or to learn the Telemark style.
